BADASS WOMEN GALLERY SHOW
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK 2020 & AUSTIN, TEXAS 2022

As a female business owner, empowering women and non binary folks and championing women's stories has always been important to Gaby. In 2020, she held a free to the public art gallery show in New York City to highlight 55 female entrepreneurs. Gaby photographed portraits and interviewed each woman about their own unique story of how they triumphed and persevered to achieve their goals. The gallery show event was a great success, with hundreds turning up in Brooklyn to network and be in community.
In 2022, Gaby held a second iteration of the project in Austin, Texas, highlighting a new group of 50 incredible women. It was also a free event that anyone could attend and be inspired by. Check out the videos below for recaps of these empowering events.

CONSUMERISM AND NOSTALGIA
LONDON COLLEGE OF FASHION, 2017
This gallery show was Gaby’s capstone project of her Master of Arts program in London, England. The show explored themes of fashion consumption, mass production, and waste, by comparing fast food and fast fashion. Gaby created a studio photoshoot based on the American fast food aesthetic and then printed the images onto cheeseburger wrappers from McDonald’s.
She created receipt collages by scanning, copying and printing receipts and images together. The colors and layers represent the frenzy and allure of mass shopping. Gaby overlayed the physical receipts with a video screen displaying numbers which represent the money that is spent every minute on Oxford Street in London, adding £160.75 to the total every second. After only 10 minutes, almost £80,000 pounds have been spent.

BLURRING THE LINES
PARIS COLLEGE OF ART, 2017
Blurring the Lines was a group exhibition at Paris College of Art in Paris, France. Gaby submitted her image Soho Glow from a photoshoot she created at Lights of Soho in London. The pink and neon colors along with the model's pose add to the whimsy and mystery of the image.
